How the guidance works

Same model as the ETB page. Buy, Consider and Wait are collection-buy guidance based primarily on each box’s own recorded average and low over the last 90 days (one point per week). Every priced box gets a concrete buy-at price. Confidence reflects how many price points exist, how long the history spans, and whether the market is thin. Investment attractiveness is shown separately. MSRP is only a guard for very new near-retail boxes. A box gets a buy price only if it has at least 6 recorded prices in the last 90 days and one in the last 3 weeks. Vintage boxes (before Black & White, 2011) sell too rarely for that, so they show the last recorded sale and no buy price. Each box is also checked against a second source: the eBay sold prices PriceCharting records for it. Where the tracker and the median of those sales disagree by more than 40%, the box is treated as a thin market. Black & White-era or newer boxes with too few tracker points but at least 4 eBay sales in 180 days are priced from those sales, at low confidence. Boxes not checked yet say so on the card. Half boxes, Enhanced boxes and Japanese boxes are not included. Prices are a dated snapshot and are never auto-refreshed. Check price opens current listings and sold prices; Ask Instinct to refresh opens a ready-to-send WhatsApp request for a verified check.
